The Ministry of Healing: Home Influences

Welcome back to our Tuesday health series! This week's chapter from The Ministry of Healing reminds us that well-being begins at home. The atmosphere of a household shapes the health of everyone living in it, and that includes the mind and heart as well as the body.

In "Home Influences," Ellen G. White speaks to both mothers and fathers about the important work of raising children. She encourages parents to offer warmth, patience, and time, and to build homes where cheerfulness, courtesy, and love are part of daily life. She also reminds us that children have a part to play in making a home a happy place.

As you read, consider one small thing you could do this week to make your home a little brighter for the people in it.

We would love to have you join us this Sabbath! Come worship with us, meet our church family, and be encouraged. Everyone is welcome.

Christ Object Lessons: "Spare it this Year Also"

Watercolor painting of an old, gnarled fig tree with sparse leaves standing in a sunlit vineyard, overlaid with the text "SPARE IT THIS YEAR ALSO."

Every so often, life hands us a wake-up call, a piece of news that makes us stop and ask hard questions about our own hearts. In this chapter, Ellen White explores how Jesus responded to a group of people eager to judge someone else's tragedy, and turns their attention instead to the parable of the barren fig tree. It's a story about patience, mercy, and the quiet danger of a life that looks fine on the outside but bears no real fruit. As you read, consider: what has God been patiently waiting for in your own life?

We'd love for you to bring these questions with you this Sabbath. Join us for worship as we continue exploring what it means to grow in Christ; everyone is welcome!

Ministry of Healing: The Child

Watercolor painting of a mother sitting on a couch and reading a picture book with her young daughter and son, who lean in closely with attentive expressions. A white frame borders the scene with text at the bottom reading "THE CHILD."

This week we're sharing the chapter "The Child" from Ministry of Healing by Ellen G. White. It's a tender look at how parents can raise children who are healthy in body, mind, and spirit. White points to examples like Samson and John the Baptist, showing how careful, loving training from infancy shapes the character of a child for life. She reminds us that a home filled with love, patience, and good habits does more good than we may ever realize.

We hope this chapter encourages you, whether you're a parent, grandparent, or simply someone who loves the children in your life. Join us this Sabbath as we continue exploring what it means to care for the whole person: body, mind, and soul. We'd love to see you there!

Christ Object Lessons: Lost, and is Found

Watercolor illustration of the Prodigal Son returning home, seen from behind in tattered clothing with his head bowed, while his joyful father runs toward him with open arms outside an ancient city. Text overlay reads, "Lost, and is Found."

This week's chapter, "Lost, and Is Found," comes from Christ's Object Lessons by Ellen G. White. It looks closely at the story of the prodigal son and what it teaches us about God's love. Even when we wander far from Him, God is watching and waiting, ready to run to meet us the moment we turn back home.

This chapter is a reminder that no one is too lost or too far gone for God's grace. Whether you feel like the prodigal son or the elder brother, there's a place for you in the Father's house. Join us this Sabbath as we dig deeper into this beautiful story of love and forgiveness. We hope to see you there!

What September 11 Teaches Us About Being Ready

Night view of the New York City skyline with the Statue of Liberty in the foreground and two blue light beams shining into the sky, overlaid with a translucent number "9" and white text reading "25 YEARS LATER."

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the United States. Every September 11, we remember a morning when ordinary life was suddenly interrupted. People went to work, children went to school, and families began another ordinary day, never imagining how quickly everything could change. More than two decades later, 9/11 still reminds us of something we would rather not think about: none of us knows what tomorrow will bring.

But the Christian response to that uncertainty doesn't have to be fear. What if remembering September 11 can instead remind us to live with greater purpose, gratitude, and hope? This Sabbath, we invite you to join us as we consider what the Bible means when it calls us to “watch” and be ready for Christ's return, not with anxiety, but with quiet confidence and hope.

Ministry of Healing: The Mother

Watercolor illustration of a mother kneeling beside a bed and praying with her young daughter and son in a sunlit bedroom, with a white border frame and the text overlay "THE MOTHER" centered at the bottom.

This week we return to our regular schedule with Chapter 31 of The Ministry of Healing, “The Mother.” In this chapter, Ellen G. White reflects on the sacred influence and responsibility of mothers, the importance of their health and well-being, and the lasting impact of their work in shaping the lives of their children.

And this Friday, we will also resume our original articles and regular blog content.

If you are able, we warmly invite you to join us this Sabbath for worship. We would be happy to have you with us.
